Join the best carrier strike group.
If our friendly fire incidents don't kill, our memes probably will.
Virtual Carrier Strike Group 8 (CSG-8 or vCSG-8) is a DCS World Milsim gaming community founded on February 3rd, 2019.
Our goal with this group is to offer a place for those of us who enjoy gaming realism and simulation but don't enjoy an overbearing military structure in the community's social environment. Our virtual naval squadrons run dynamic campaigns using the Supercarrier module, F/A-18C, and F-14 Tomcat in Eagle Dynamic's Digital Combat Simulator. Along with that, we wish to share our awesome experiences with other people, and as many of us know this game only gets better with more like-minded players by your side! Whether you're a real-life pilot, veteran, college student, or just sim enthusiast, you'll find like-minded people to hang out with!

Founded in February 2019, VFA-81 "Sunliners" is CSG-8's founding squadron. Flying the Eagle Dynamic's F/A-18 Hornet, you'll find VFA-81 pilots performing precision strikes, SEAD, and combat air patrol in every mission as a tight knit and coordinated unit. All of VFA-81's officers are excellent flight leads and can teach you the Hornet from the ground up. You'll never be alone in the skies, and always have competent wingmen you can count on to get you home.
Founded in April of 2019, VF-11 "Red Rippers" is CSG-8's second squadron operating Heatblur Simulation's F-14A/B Tomcat, with the aim to provide DCS multiplayer's premiere multicrew experience. During operations VF-11 consistently flies with complete human Pilot and RIO pairs, and can be found patrolling the skies, performing surgical strikes, or risking it all with carefully laid out bombing runs. VF-11 also has several highly experienced Pilot and RIO instructors who are capable of getting new F-14 crew members dogfighting and rolling snakeyes in no time.
Initially created in November 2019, the VFA-45 "Spartans" is a fictional virtual squadron that originated as a casual group of friends who were brought together by ARMA MILSIM and decided to start flying the F/A-18C Hornet in DCS. As of May 2021, the VFA-45 "Spartans" now fly as an integrated member of the CSG-8 team. If you are looking for an authentic but relaxed experience learning DCS, the F/A-18C Hornet, and relevant procedures, VFA-45 has knowledgeable experts who can show you the ropes at your own pace.
